How It Works

What counts

  • Wheat, carrots, potatoes and beetroot must be fully grown.
  • Melons and pumpkins don't count if you break them with Silk Touch.
  • Sweet berries and glow berries count when you pick them.
  • Sheep only count if they still have wool.
  • Every piece of red sand you mine can drop an ant.
  • Bugs drop on the ground next to you, not into your inventory, so pick them up before they despawn.

The odds

  • Every harvest has a 0.15% chance to drop a bug, about 1 in 667.
  • Melon Beetles, Ermine Moths, Fleas and Ants have a spot all to themselves, so they're the easiest to find.
  • Wheat and sweet berries share their luck between three bugs, making those the rarest (about 1 in 2,000).
  • Bigger farms mean more harvests, and more chances.
